After the success of the previous year's display, 2004 naturally saw a gear-change and major increase in number of lights. We used about 15000 and built upon the ideas of the 2003 display to create a more impressive effect.

New in 2004 were the lights on the two trees to the side of our garden, the tree in front of the house and the extension of the roof's icicle lights around the back of the house. Finally, 2004 saw the introduction of a new colour of lights - purple.

The 2004 display was very well receieved. In fact, somehow, something in James' head clicked at the end of the year, the result of which would end up taking most by surprise the following December...
